Permit for work affecting roadside trees and stone walls
Trees between a private property boundary and the road are public property. A permit from the Tree Warden is needed to remove any such trees 1.5 inches in diameter or larger. For trees 4" or larger, the Planning Board also issues the permit.
Removing all or part of stone walls that border town roads also requires a permit unless the wall is entirely within private property.
